The team was able to provide insight on the LCEC process for before, after, and during a storm, along with sharing tips for helping manage energy usage and using SmartHub to your advantage! National Electricity Day ⚡ Today is a great reminder of how much electricity powers daily life. DYK: Hurricane preparedness activities become much more difficult once winds reach tropical storm force? Tropical storm–force winds are defined as sustained winds of 39–73 mph. Watches and warnings are issued in advance of these conditions to give families time to prepare.

Items that were once only included in temporary tax holidays are now always exempt, such as many batteries, portable gas containers, smoke detectors, fire extinguishers, waterproof tarps, and portable generators rated 10,000 running watts or less. 82 years ago, on June 6, 1944, American, British and Canadian troops landed on the beaches of Normandy, France. LCEC honors those who fought this great fight and those who lost their lives, we are forever grateful for the sacrifices made.

LCEC is proud to be a member of Florida Electric Cooperatives Association (FECA), giving access to additional crews and resources when needed to speed up restoration and support the community.
