Garland ISD Librarian Appreciation Week is a time to celebrate the incredible impact our librarians have on students, staff, and the entire learning community. Through collaboration, innovation, and a deep commitment to student success, GISD librarians create welcoming spaces where every child can discover, explore, and thrive. Their work plays a vital role in supporting academic achievement and fostering a true love of reading across our district.

Yesterday, the LCHS library partnered with the @garlandtxgov Garland Public Library to provide buttons for students at the LCHS SVEC Mock Election event! TY to the GPL outreach team, @MttpTexas, and Mrs. E for an AWESOME event! 252 buttons made & tons of happy students!

Child Development classes in the library last week to check out books for a read aloud project! Took notes on the importance of reading aloud to children & then time to browse, check out & practice! Students picked books they would enjoy reading & had FUN! @LCHS_Patriots

LCHS Student Book Club meeting last week! Students shared what they read and we talked out checking out poetry or a novel in verse for National Poetry Month. Then, time to make blackout poetry! ALL students can create blackout poetry in the library all month long! @LCHS_Patriots

On March 13, the library was honored to host the LCHS Soul Food Luncheon to celebrate Black History Month! TY to these AMAZING ladies for putting this event together for the whole LCHS community to enjoy! @MilamChristie @LCHS_Patriots @gisdnews @GISDREADS @GisdSoc
