There is nothing worse than being disabled and chronically ill. You can’t live any form of a normal life being it. You’re resented, miss out on every good thing in life and the only people who empathise are other disabled and ill. Who have next to no power to make change.

In 2020, two months after my C-19 infection, I was admitted to the same hospital where I trained with a heart rate of 135 (sinus tach) and oxygen sat of 89 in bed. My attending physician was a guy I’d been good friends with since intern year, who knew I was a healthy, endurance athlete. He looked at the monitor and asked me if I thought my vitals were “real.” He then proceeded to document in the chart something along the lines of: “it may be anxiety but it may be something else.” Really hoping insight has grown since then, and Simone gets prompt care for what’s causing her tachycardia. Because despite all I’ve seen in my career, and gone through as a patient, that was a snapshot in time that still haunts me. And I’m still not well 6 years later.
Simone Biles lying in bed with a resting heart rate of 126. Very curious to hear what they say is causing that. 😥

Remember that the existence of Long Covid and the fact that millions of people worldwide are suffering from it creates an extraordinary dissonance in the minds of a section of the population who wish to believe the falsity that Covid is no longer dangerous, and perhaps never was.

Wow, here is a result I wasn’t expecting. My Covid functional panel has starting coming back This was taken on day 41 of antivirals. I’m now IgM positive for spike. That’s current or recent infection. My last known exposure was December of 2023. The IGG antibodies have climbed too for spike and nucleocapsid. This is a real signal, IGG for nucleocapsid only comes from natural exposure. While it’s possible there was a recent infection, I haven’t had any signs. I can only interpret this as my immune system is coming back online and re-engaging with something that’s been hiding, likely due to the antivirals. I absolutely wasn’t expecting this. I expect the interferon gamma information that should be released shortly will show active engagement. This is a smoking gun now.
