Loved watching Citrus get the W. Go Owls! A couple of players who coached Peanut in summer basketball camp came to his game earlier in the day. Of course, he wanted to show up for his coaches that nt. The kids are alright. ❤️🦉

❄️ On a frigid Weds nt, brave service-learning marketing students visited Lopez Urban Farm in Pomona. They asked Farmer Stephen why he kept Bodega Comunitaria open that eve when he could have canceled due to weather. “…consistency. We said we would be here for the community.” ❤️

A few student reflections from last term:
We could be human and fail.
It was okay to experiment while doing your best.
I learned how to get a job, not just skills used on the job.
Thankful for parents who filled my plate (in many ways).
Grateful for time with family today.
Remembering the land, suffering, and greatness of Indigenous people.
Thinking of our global family.
We have many rivers to cross.
May we learn to love well.
Today 100% of my students in one of my classes said they have never had a Black male english professor.
As corny as it may sound--this is why many of us do this work. Sometimes simply being in the room is a form of activism. Our presence matters. Our existence is resistance.
Celebrated @veterans_cpp 10th anniversary this month! I love working with this on-campus partner. They are a force for good, welcoming to all, leading by example.
Alum and US Coast Guard Tahir Davis shared a moving reminder, “…our purpose is to help others.” 🙏🏼 #WeAreCPP

Thank you for this convo. This needs to be intentional. Deliberately considered, delivered, modeled, and discussed. Not passive.
Authenticity is not, "Take me as I am, like it or not!"
Rather, authenticity is the integration of our values, emotions, and behaviors, so they shine their light in the world.
It is the ultimate expression of intentionality and wisdom.
