The great migration as the sun goes down. Headed to the water hole. Sorry for the dirty windows on the video, but didn’t want to stop the tractor.

Sights that haven’t been seen around here in a long time. Very grateful for the ran. Hopefully now we have planting moisture on most fields. The lower soil profile is still in need of more rain. I will take it. Thank the Lord.

Planting cotton in less than desirable conditions, I remembered when I put this 12 row together. This will be 41 consecutive years. It has been repaired, retrofitted, upgraded over the years. Some parts are hard to find, Just think of the $ of seed that’s been pour into it.

The south plains of Texas is in severe drought, and it’s the middle of planting season. Desperately need rain to germinate seed. The last two days have had storms develop and move across. Each had more sand, wind than sprinkles. Just shows how dry the area is. It’s critical!

Farmers are known to never throw anything away, never know when you need it. The gear has been on the shelf since the 80”s collecting dust. Good that I remembered we had it because it has been discontinued. Needed steps on the sprayer, these were on the junk pile forever.

George Strait can still put on a show. Seen him back in the 80s. Both first class shows. Only big difference between now and then was the price of the tickets. Two nights at Texas Tech

The start of irrigation season can be challenging. The drain valve was open during winterization but yet something just didn’t completely drained out. Gremlins always show up when least expected.

Striptill plow is working great with the stock cutter units even though it is extremely dry. You can tell by the dust just how dry it is. Much needed rain is needed to start the 2026 crop. Planting time is weeks away.

Had a hitch switch go out on a tractor. Only one of the two was broken, however they come in pairs so you have to purchase the whole unit, $300.00 plus. Making you buy something that you don’t need to just get the item you do need is a marketing money maker.

Took time to get the AA Ford truck out to charge the battery, oil it up and give it a quick wash. Even took the wife for a Sunday afternoon ride down the road. Hopefully that will count has a date night.

Having two miles of four lane highway against the field, we find lots of unwanted treasures. Trash , tires, wheels, bumbers, mirrors & plastic parts. Never had a semi truck trailer brake drum before. Luckily didn’t do any damage. Wondering where the wheels & tires will be found

At the Pre 1963 car show. Lots of sweet rides, some original some customized. Wonderful craftsmanship in these automobiles. Thankful for those that saves history for the younger generation to see.

Lloyd Arthur retweeted
Had a chance to catch up on the sidelines of yesterday’s great event here in Lubbock with my great friend Mr. Lloyd Arthur! I am so honored to have the support of farmers on the ground across this great District like Lloyd, and of many grassroots farm organizations. I’m proud to have fought for West Texas farmers and ranchers my entire career - I’m ready to keep it going. Let’s go!

Hosted John Deere area/regional representatives. Good discussion with farmers, mechanics, parts managers, shop specialists, finance department. If you ever have the opportunity to meet with these folks, do so.
