Chelsea Women’s move away from Kingsmeadow has been coming for a while, but hearing that next season’s cup competition home matches will be played at the Cherry Red Records Stadium makes it feel real in a way it never has before. For so many of us, Kingsmeadow was never just a football ground. It was where we celebrated league titles, witnessed unforgettable European nights, watched legends come and go and saw Chelsea grow from a team chasing success into one that expected it. But what made Kingsmeadow special wasn’t just the trophies. It was the feeling of being there. You could hear the players, they could hear you and there was always a sense that everyone inside that stadium was part of something together. The connection between the fans and the team felt genuine and unique. As the women’s game continues to grow, bigger venues are the right step. Chelsea deserve bigger crowds, bigger stages and the opportunity to reach even more people. Playing more matches at larger stadiums is a reflection of how far this team and the game itself have come. But that doesn’t make saying goodbye any easier. Because what made Kingsmeadow special can’t be measured by attendance figures or trophy counts. It was the place where friendships were formed, traditions were created and countless memories were made. For many supporters, it was where we truly fell in love with this team. The move to Wimbledon marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter. There is so much to look forward to and so much potential for Chelsea Women to keep growing. But at the same time, it feels like the end of something that meant a great deal to so many of us. Years from now, people will talk about the trophies and the dominance of this Chelsea side. But those of us who were there will remember Kingsmeadow too. We’ll remember the cold nights, the last minute winners, the celebrations, the familiar faces in the stands and the feeling of being part of a community that grew alongside the team. No matter where the team plays in the future, the memories made there will always belong to the fans who lived them. 🎨 @LDAWGraphics ✍️ Ruby Vince #womensfootball #beyondthepitch #chelseawomen

When Alex Greenwood signed her Manchester City extension in 2025, she spoke about having “unfinished business” at the club. Six months later, she lifted the Women’s Super League trophy for the first time in her career. From criticism after leaving Manchester United, to injury setbacks and years spent chasing the WSL title, Greenwood’s journey to this moment has been far from straightforward. Our latest article looks deeper into her story and Manchester City’s return to the top of English football. As women’s football continues to grow commercially and professionally, conversations around player welfare are becoming harder to ignore. For years, many insurance policies within women’s sport failed to properly account for pregnancy, menopause, miscarriage or health conditions such as RED-S, despite the impact they can have on athletes and their careers. Now, changes led by the Women’s Football Taskforce and major insurance providers are beginning to reshape what protection for female athletes should actually look like. Our latest article looks at the changing landscape of player welfare within women’s football and why these conversations matter. Manchester City Women have been crowned winners of the Women's Super League for the first time in a decade — with one game still left to play. After suffering a 2-1 defeat to Chelsea Women on the opening day of the season, City’s title challenge got off to a difficult start. However, they quickly responded in impressive fashion, recording a 2-1 win over Brighton & Hove Albion Women, a dominant 5-1 away victory against Tottenham Hotspur Women, and a 4-1 triumph over London City Lionesses in their next three league matches — setting the tone for the rest of the campaign. Winger Lauren Hemp highlighted the mentality within the squad earlier in the season, saying: “It’s important that we use the fire and hunger within us and go on and win league titles.” That determination has been a major driving force behind this City side throughout the campaign. Manchester City Head Coach Andrée Jeglertz said earlier in the season that “his main task is to create the winning mentality and believe that we can win,” and since that opening-day defeat, Manchester City have gone on to win 17 of their 20 league games, showing the sheer determination behind his statement. With Chelsea dropping crucial points throughout the season, the closest challenge came from Arsenal Women, who still had two games in hand and hopes of taking the title race to the final day. But a 1-1 draw away at Brighton ended those hopes, allowing City to move 8 points clear of Chelsea and 10 points clear of the Gunners, securing the title with games to spare. Captain of the Blues Alex Greenwood once said: “I would love nothing more than to be the captain who lifts a trophy at this football club.” Now in her sixth season as a Blue, that dream has become a reality for the right-back. Manchester City can now turn their attention to their game against Chelsea this weekend in the Women's FA Cup semi-final and their final game of the season away to West Ham United Women. Congratulations to Manchester City on a formidable season! 🎨 @LDAWGraphics #Beyondthepitch #womensfootball #manchestercity #barclayswsl

Khadija “Bunny” Shaw is rewriting WSL history in real time and still making it look effortless Shaw continues to redefine what consistency at the top looks like, delivering the fastest hat-trick in WSL history with a devastating first-half treble against Spurs in March 2026. Just 12 minutes and 37 seconds separated her first and third goals, with the hat-trick wrapped up inside 21 minutes of the game. And it’s far from a one-off, with the Manchester City forward now scoring four consecutive home hat-tricks against Tottenham at the Joie Stadium, building a remarkable record of 16 goals in 12 appearances against them across multiple seasons, establishing herself as a real Spurs specialist. Beyond the records, it’s her impact on the title race that really stands out, leading from the front and helping drive City’s dominance at the top of the table while turning moments of brilliance into results that matter. Speaking after the game, Shaw said: “The most important thing for me was the win, because that puts us closer to the title. So I think getting the win and getting the quickest hat-trick is a wonderful feeling.” Records broken, standards raised, and still focused on the bigger picture. ✍️ @Maisie_a_m1 🎨 @LDAWGraphics #KhadijaShaw #WomensFootball #BeyondThePitch
