On 26 June in Tangier, the leaders of those cities come together for the Metropolis General Assembly. 160 city and metropolitan governments, one agenda: setting the collective priorities that will guide the world's largest cities through 2029.
The UCLG World Congress convenes around a new generation of local public services. On 26 June, the conversation shifts from services to strategy, from the local to the metropolitan.

Today, on the International #DayOfMultilateralism of the @UN, it’s worth looking beyond nation-states and recognizing the growing role of cities, #Listen2Cities.
#Multilateralism is also built from the local level: through cooperation networks, territorial alliances, and the international action of subnational governments.
#Paradiplomacy is not a complement—it’s part of the solution. It brings global agendas closer to citizens, making them more tangible, diverse, and effective.
We add this reflection to the #100DaysOfMultilateralism led by @UCLG_Org and Local Governments: more local voices make multilateralism more representative and impactful.
