To make journeys easier during engineering work planned for the East Coast main line later in the year, we’re hoping to divert some @LNER services onto the Midland Main Line. This week we ran one of our Azuma trains to Bedford overnight to test stepping distances and accessibility. Now this is done, our focus shifts to securing the approvals we need to divert services.

Planned strike action affecting London Underground 📢 Strikes by RMT Tube drivers will affect some Tube services on: - Tuesday 2 June - Thursday 4 June Some disruption is expected during the early mornings of Wednesday 3 and Friday 5 June as we return our services to normal. During these strikes other TfL services such as buses, Elizabeth line, DLR, London Overground and Trams will be running as normal but are expected to be busy. Good morning. We’ve got a couple of 20mph speed restrictions on our @LNER route today - one at St Neots and the other at Tollerton, between Northallerton and York - due to issues relating to the extreme heat 🌞. Both are on 125mph sections of our route so there will be a few minutes delay to southbound services as a result of these speed restrictions. We’ve also decided to run fewer InterCity225 trains and more Azuma trains in service today as the Azuma trains have better air conditioning - there are some service alterations as a result, please check lner.co.uk/travel-informatio… for full details
