State Tournament, 50 years ago, 1976:
Lincoln Northeast's 54-52 win over Hastings was all over the papers. A dramatic game played in front of, likely, the biggest crowd to ever see a prep game in the state, over 13K.

The LJS and OWH had photos of three of the four Class A games:
Lincoln Northeast v. Norfolk
Omaha Northwest v. Omaha Central
Hastings v. Creighton Prep

Growing up as a Lincoln Northeast kid the mid 90’s was incredible for state basketball. Can never forget spending all day down there watching state basketball. The students on those old wooden bleachers on the sidelines was the best!
The mid-90s was a golden era for HS basketball in Lincoln. All four Class A schools (Northeast, Southeast, East, and Lincoln High) had high-level players and were among Nebraska’s top teams. The energy at Devaney when those teams played at State represented the best of HS sports.

Winn Wins: Lincoln Northeast alum, Christian Winn, grew up right down the road from Nebraska Wesleyan.
He now is helping them win in his junior year, NWU claimed the out-right ARC Regular Season title on Saturday. (@NWU_Basketball, @LNEbbasketball)
