Informal settlements in Cape Town and surrounding areas. The most latest large scale land grab was the Tigerberg oval racetrack in Kraaifontein Before (2005) and After (2023)

If only there was a job to find perfect offcuts. Side note yes, I want to stay in JHB - never felt at home in the cape - but starting over/rebuilding everything and or finding a job at my age is difficult. Also need one to fund my new interest in electronics - serious fun stuff

Had some off cuts so built a washing line (made a few errors but working on a better design for custom lengths without a fixed cross bar)

I mean this with sincerity. Humanity is destined for a humbling correction.
This is the age of democratic and egalitarian robots for all. It is starting now.

One of my favorate Afrikaans words is "Vaardigheid" meaning skills or proficiencies, originating from middle Dutch meaning "ready for departure" or "ready for a journey"

Heeltyd speeltyd. Been busy with a wide range of repairs. Always amazed by the lack of foresight and common sense when it comes to some elements in building/construction. Feeding the repair guy. Studying architectural drafting years ago taught me so many valuble things

Gov should totally raise VAT on woolworths bread to 115% and use the 85% gained to subsidize spaza shops in poor areas so they can hand out bread for free.

"100% gained" Also....Then relocate all woolworths stores outside of rich areas so customers can drive further and pay more VAT on fuel costs.

Spoke to a guy about work, he said he doesnt hire white guys because in a years time white guys all want to be the boss. I totally get his point. ...but I just want to do steelwork, not boss work.

Passed down generations. I recieved it when I was 10. BSA club standard under lever air rifle produced in 1930-1935 from what I can gather. Repaired the trigger, build new lever lock mechanism and replaced missing screws. Gave wood some oil. Still shoots like a dream.

Good throwback. Rioters bussed in from neighbouring town caused R17mil in damages, burned down a library, soup kitchen and destroyed homes all while I built the frame for the workbench for less than R1k. Some build, some destroy.
There was talk of protest action in our little town this week so I build my mom a frame for a 2m x 1m workbench with 3 tier shelving for her garage ✌🤠

Reflecting on the past 5 years and restarting my ways from scratch again its only really steelwork I have a true passion for - I love building small figurines to explore elements to use in larger structures. This style will make for a beautiful security gate.

Also the ability to take scraps I picked up on the side of the road to make something worthy is rewarding.
