Real Iowans supporting real Iowa representation. Help keep Iowa voices strong. Iowans deserve this kind of leadership. laehn4iowa.org/donate
There will be three candidates on the ballot this November for the United States Senate seat in Iowa. Only one has received a majority of his donations from Iowans. The other two have received a majority of their donations from outside of Iowa. Any guesses? [Laehn4Iowa.org]

As we approach @Freedom250, President Trump is celebrating something that's always set our nation apart: the American fighting spirit. Theodore Roosevelt famously honored the men and women willing to step into the arena and dare greatly. For 250 years, Americans have done exactly that, on 25 @NatlParkService battlefield parks and sites, in businesses, in communities and in pursuit of a better future.

Quick correction for @KCRG: kcrg.com/2026/06/12/iowa-pan… The article states Rick Stewart and Marco Battaglia are *both* running in U.S. House District 3. šŸ—½ Rick Stewart is running in District 2 šŸ—½ Marco Battaglia is running in District 3 Thanks for covering the ballot access hearing Monday. The only Libertarian candidate in Iowa Republicans didn’t challenge. But it shouldn’t take a PhD and a law degree just to gain ballot access. Making it harder to run for office is un-American.

Exactly right, @amitylee13. In Iowa, Republican operatives are challenging 3 Libertarian candidates' ballot access — while our US Senate candidate Thomas Laehn already secured his spot with thousands of signatures. They call us "irrelevant" yet work overtime to block us. Why? Because real alternatives threaten their monopoly. Iowans deserve choice. #LPIA #IowaLiberty
The most effective form of election rigging is making it nearly impossible for alternative candidates to gain ballot access.

Funny how politicians in Washington keep finding new ways to make life more expensive, and then act surprised when families are struggling. Iowans don't need more promises or programs. We need government to quit making everything cost so much.
Hot take: The president should stop doing things (tariffs, wars) that make prices go up for everyone

Surveys like Pew's new 'Beyond Red vs Blue' typology sound smart — 9 neat buckets for all Americans. But they flatten real people into rigid boxes and actively shut out the libertarian mindset that reflects much of what everyday Americans actually believe: individual liberty, consistent limited government, and skepticism of endless power. This isn’t understanding — it’s reinforcing division.
Do you feel like you don’t fit in as a ā€˜Democrat’ or a ā€˜Republican?’ Our new political typology shows this complexity, sorting the public into nine distinct groups based on their political and cultural values. The result is a picture of American politics with far more than just red and blue.

We see this everyday across this great state — hardworking Iowans who say no more corporate welfare, no more endless wars, no more politicians who talk small government but grow the state when it suits them.

This is exactly why they fear our candidates & use ballot access challenges to block Libertarians. Our message doesn't fit their easily controlled little boxes.

Republicans & Democrats challenge our ballot access every election cycle because we are simultaneously ā€œirrelevantā€ and ā€œthreateningā€ according to their narrative. šŸ•µšŸ»ā€ā™‚ļø Make it make sense.
My ballot access is being challenged indirectly by Zach Nunn for a second time. Someone that claimed to work for him. Their company also made attack ads against @MassieforKY @RepThomasMassie This time it is about my name. My birth name is Mark Thomas Andersen but I have gone by Marco Thomoso Battaglia at least since the second Dark Mirror album, Portrait of Evil, and my youngest son (biological) is named Battaglia. I was going to change my name when I got married but then I didn't get married. These challenges are making a mockery out of this process and the courts. And wasting resources and taxpayer money. It also keeps Sand, Pate, and Bird from focusing on more important things related to their duties and from campaigning. Anyone can use this statement on record.

Des Moines, IA (06/1/2026)Ā  -Ā Libertarian gubernatorial candidate Nicholas Gluba and U.S. Senate candidate Thomas Laehn will submit petition signatures to the Iowa Secretary of State's Office on Tuesday, June 2, at 11:00 a.m., marking a major milestone in their efforts to provide Iowa voters with a principled alternative in the November election. Gluba will submit approximately 7,500 signatures gathered from voters across the state—more than double the 3,500 signatures required for gubernatorial ballot access. Iowa law also requires at least 100 signatures from voters in at least 19 counties, requirements the campaign has exceeded. The signatures were collected through a statewide grassroots effort involving volunteers and supporters in communities across Iowa. The filing underscores the growing number of Iowans who want an alternative to the same two parties that have dominated Iowa politics for generations. "While Republicans and Democrats are buying their seats with out-of-state money, I am earning mine the Iowa way — putting miles on the car, miles on the boots, and meeting voters across this state," said Gluba. Laehn will submit nearly 10,000 signatures at the Secretary of State’s Office. Laehn's petition filing will formally place his U.S. Senate campaign before Iowa voters, offering a real alternative for the growing number of Iowans who are frustrated with business as usual in Washington. With congressional approval at 10%, according to an April 2026 Gallup poll, Laehn's campaign speaks directly to voters who are tired of sending the same two parties to Washington and getting the same results. ā€œI am not running against the Republican candidate. I am not running against the Democratic candidate,ā€ Laehn said. ā€œI am running against the two-party system itself.ā€ā€ØĀ  Members of the media are invited to attend the petition filing.
