Days 3 & 4 as part of the @LPOrchestra Young Composers program: an inspiring deep dive into the creative and professional world with sessions led by @ianmylett from @schottmusic, Artistic Director @ElenaDubinets, composer @freyawaleycohen, and LPO musicians 🎶
@LPOrchestra with @VikingurMusic under Edward Gardner! Ólafsson performed Brahms' Piano Concerto No. 1 magnificently, followed by encores from Rameau and Sibelius. The evening concluded with Beethoven’s Eroica and an Artist Talk with Ólafsson and our director Stephan Pauly 🎶✨
Playing Rachmaninoff’s dazzling choral symphony The Bells to a sold-out Royal Festival Hall in September was a highlight of our year. We're so happy to be able to share it with you on @MarqueeArtsTV this weekend!🎉

Honestly feeling that I have no need to hear Tchaik 6 again for at least a decade after tonight’s effort by @LPOrchestra with @kcanellakis. I have heard it done very well in this hall before but that was mind-blowing. A word too for quicksilver Beethoven by @vadymkholodenko
Witch please 🧙♀️
It’s the spookiest night of the year, so let's start fright night right with a throwback to playing Berlioz’s Dream of a Witches' Sabbath 🎃 c'est fantastique 💀
The premiere of Mother Tongue is next wk! I’m v excited to get stuck into rehearsals with the @LPOrchestra & Ed Gardner. Plus, ‘one of the 21st century’s true sonic alchemists’ might be my favourite way I’ve ever been described. Anyway - come along! lpo.org.uk/event/vikingur-ol…
Scroller sorcery ✨
Add a sprinkle of magic to your Halloween weekend with this bewitching moment from Dukas's The Sorcerer's Apprentice, straight out of Disney's Fantasia 🧙♀️
A symphony fit for a king 👑
Can you name the film that features this iconic section of Beethoven's Seventh Symphony?
We can’t wait to play this in our season opener at @EBTheatres this Sunday 🤩
That's a wrap ✨
We're still on cloud nine after finishing our tour of the US with our Principal Conductor Ed Gardner earlier this week! From California to Carnegie, we've enjoyed every minute and have loved seeing so many of you at our concerts 🫶
Huge thanks must go to our wonderful soloists @RandallGoosby & Patricia Kopatchinskaja for their breathtaking performances of Barber and Shostakovich Violin Concertos 🤩
Next, we're back at the Southbank Centre for Strauss's Ein Heldenleben with Sir Mark Elder on Friday!
Core memory unlocked 🔓
We're still in a New York State of Mind after our Carnegie Hall concert on Saturday night!🗽Thank you so much to everyone who came along to see us 🫶
It was such a joy to see the incredible reaction to Patricia Kopatchinskaja's breathtaking rendition of Shostakovich's Violin Concerto and we had a blast performing LPO Composer-in-Residence Tania León's Raíces (Origins).
Not to mention, this was our Principal Conductor Ed Gardner's Carnegie Hall debut. Certainly a night to remember for us all!
We’ve had the best time on tour in the US 💛 Watch this space to see more from our trip 👀
