In the case of 17 year old— he was sober, had no criminal record and by all accounts was a wonderful kid. It didn’t matter because someone wound up dead.
Do not tell me that Alec Baldwin not getting arrested is not a function of wealth and privilege.
It’s unacceptable.

I studied a case of a 17 year old who accidentally killed someone when he fell asleep driving. Not only was he arrested, he was found guilty.
There is no scenario where a person who “accidentally” kills someone does not get arrested.
This is extraordinary privilege.
