"The dentary–squamosal contact, which is traditionally considered to be a typical mammalian feature, therefore evolved more than once and is more evolutionary labile than previously considered" Wow. Massive congratulations all involved.

Creature from the Black Lagoon. released in 1954, What few knew until recently however, is that the credit for the Creature’s iconic design was cruelly stolen from one of the industry’s earlier female animators, Millicent Patrick.

Folks, you're goddamn Nature. How about spelling "seque" correctly in the freaking abstract?
A Perspective in @NatRevMater discusses how robots can emulate biological levels of adaptability through shape-morphing mechanisms and complementary control strategies to achieve compressed, rapid and reversible ‘evolution on demand.’ 🔒 go.nature.com/4eahWSj

I’m seeing a lot of anger and disappointment in badger circles today that the badger cull is ending, but not ending fast enough. Apologies for the long thread 🧵, but tet me explain why I think the news is the best it could be 1/25

Oh shit. Cheerio Steve.x
Rest in peace to astonishing author, activist, and cherished member of the Grateful Dead family, Steve Silberman. “When I started working for the Grateful Dead in 1999, Steve Silberman was around a lot, working on the So Many Roads boxed set throughout the summer. He was so kind, warm, and welcoming to me every time we saw each other. He was genuinely respectful. One of the brightest lights I’ve met over the past 25 years. His intelligence and generosity were unmatched. Steve, you will be missed by so many. Everyone who met you or corresponded with you loves you.” - David Lemieux Photos via Steve Silberman, Susana Millman, and Marc Geller

First time in a while being back at the @NHM_London and I can confirm the new Museum garden is extraordinary. People were so involved with the exhibits, and basking in nature. Such a tonic for anyone overstimulated by the Museum's interior. It's glorious. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
