Thankful for the youth services staff members from @springfieldlib who have visited my schools to promote summer reading opportunities & all the resources our wonderful community libraries provide #ColorOurWorld#SPSReadToSucceed#SPSlib
It’s a great day at the AG Academy. The Library Center visited classes to promote Summer Reading. Plus, the newly hatched chicks stretched their legs in the yard 🐥 The only bummer is that checkouts are ending for the year #SPSlib
What a well deserved honor! I had the privelege of working alongside @CoachONeil_PE when she was one of the @watkinswildcats She's an outstanding educator and human being.
All seated and virtual classes for Wednesday, April 30, are canceled because nearly half of all schools are currently without power. State testing for Launch virtual students will continue as scheduled and district offices will remain open. Supervisors will contact employees by 6 a.m. Wednesday to provide work expectations for the day. Visit sps.org for more details.
Some days as a teacher, things go a bit upside down. Today was one of those days. But a day without power or internet is nothing significant when all your kids are safe 🥰
This morning @sps_wolf we had to switch up our rooms due to MAP testing. The students had no problem adapting to library class on the floor. I’m used to raccoons in my library, so I felt right at home too #iykyk#SPSlib
After 4 long days of MAP testing I decided my AG Academy students needed to spend some time outside. After all, when you are in @officialSPS Choice programs you can “library” anywhere ☀️📖💚 #SPSlib
Today my 4th graders were inspired by the book, Zonia’s Rain Forest, to create paperless #EarthDay art. Check out these examples of sand art and online sketches 🌎 #SPSlib
Happy #EarthDay, everyone! Today my 5th graders & I read @CaroleLindstrom’s beautiful book, We Are Water Protectors. Then, students repurposed single use plastic bags & unused photocopies to create original pieces of art. #SPSlib
Last session of #MASLsc was packed. Librarians love research, especially when it demonstrates over and over the positive impact of library programs and certificates librarians ❤️ #SPSlib
Current & former @officialSPS students & staff owe so much to Mary Kay Carson for her dedicated work in advocating for & building up #SPSlib Today her impact was posthumously honored at #MASLsc
Look who I spotted in the Exhibit Hall at #MASLsc 👀 After our author visit in February, I basically feel like I’m best friends with Izzy B and Ben Askew. AND I got a copy of This Monkey Lost A Banana
Yes, my “heart” almost “exploded” after finding these sweet notes from @MsJazlynBarnes’s students in my mailbox yesterday. What a way to celebrate National Library Week 🥰 #SPSlib
