BWI condemns the escalating war in Gaza, a human-made disaster, not a collateral crisis. Israel’s policies of starvation, displacement & conquest have pushed over 500,000 working people to the brink of famine. Gaza lies in ruins. Read our statement: bwint.org/BwiNews/NewsDetail…

And union Health & Safety Reps at the workplace are key, says @L_Wikstrom, not just during construction projects, but in the planning & budgeting process.

A key question is how to spread access for workers to occupational health services? It would help if WHO pressed for primary care to cover occupational health as part of Universal Health Coverage and promote ILO Convention 161.

This years Mayday have been colored by the ultimate act of protest conducted by our fellow construction unionist who self-immolated in front of a courthouse in Gangneung, South Korea. He will be remembered and we will fight for the living in his honor! hani.co.kr/arti/english_edit…

The UK is way behind international best practice on silica exposures. We need a new, more protective #silica workplace exposure limit now! Over a thousand lives each year could be saved, thousands of workers could be spared disability. Send HSE a message: hazards.org/hsestopkillingus

More than just a reduced exposure limit. You need to eliminate dangerous products like high silica content engineered stone and implement stronger rules to identify and control silica exposure in all industries from quarries & mining to building & construction
