Agreed! It feels wrong to be using personal bank/CC for so many work related costs - this goes beyond travel costs, often ends up being to support trainees, subscriptions, events etc… It really adds up and couldn’t do it if my husband wasn’t also supporting our household…
This reimbursement culture is absurd and should be ended asap. I heard from a colleague in a top UK university last night that they are reimbursed in 2 days max. I could not believe it. So it is possible.
