They are all in their happy place again. Celebrating 10 years of the Young Model Railway Club @ModelRailClub. The parents get in on the act too! Helped over 300 youngsters - boys & girls - in the hobby over the years. Who said the hobby was 'male, pale & stale'?!

The youngsters are at it again - having a wonderful time making things at our monthly sessions @ModelRailClub

Another busy Saturday @ModelRailClub for the younger (and young at heart) members.

On the first day, God created the dog and said, "Sit all day by the door of your house and bark at anyone who comes in or walks past. For this, I will give you a life span of twenty years." The dog said, "That's a long time to be barking. How about only ten years and I'll give you back the other ten?" And God saw it was good. On the second day, God created the monkey and said, "Entertain people, do tricks, and make them laugh. For this, I'll give you a twenty-year life span." The monkey said, "Monkey tricks for twenty years? That's a pretty long time to perform. How about I give you back ten like the dog did?" And God, again saw it was good. On the third day, God created the cow and said, "You must go into the field with the farmer all day long and suffer under the sun, have calves and give milk to support the farmer's family. For this, I will give you a life span of sixty years." The cow said, "That's kind of a tough life you want me to live for sixty years. How about twenty and I'll give back the other forty?" And God agreed it was good. On the fourth day, God created humans and said, "Eat, sleep, play, marry and enjoy your life. For this, I'll give you twenty years." But the human said, "Only twenty years? Could you possibly give me my twenty, the forty the cow gave back, the ten the monkey gave back, and the ten the dog gave back; that makes eighty, okay?" "Okay," said God, "You asked for it." So that is why for our first twenty years, we eat, sleep, play and enjoy ourselves. For the next forty years, we slave in the sun to support our family. It's nearly show time! Everything getting ready for #LFORM this weekend. @ModelRailClub putting on the biggest and best show in the country. (just a teeny bit biased).

Trying to break the test track record for the longest train @modelrailclub at Young MRC this morning. 9 engines 29 coaches. Great to see the youngster's working together - wish I could bottle their energy & enthusiasm.

Busy night again @ModelRailClub - tree making session ready for London Festival of Railway Modelling on March 21st & 22nd at Alexandra Palace.

Just popping out to clear the snow. With a model steam locomotive. And a miniature snowplough. Obviously.

The breakdown crane is too long to get into the frame @ModelRailClub this evening.

At least it's in a reasonably large scale. If it were smaller I'd be even more impressed.

As I can't be at the NEC with @ModelRailClub, thought I'd do some modelling. Sometimes it's quicker & easier to scratchbuild than clean up white metal castings. If it's too bad on painting there will be a liberal application of Somme mud!!

The calm before 2x 20 young railway modellers and their family descend for sessions at Young MRC. @ModelRailClub Give it half an hour and it will be full and LOUD!!!

High Wycombe juniors are at GETS. It is possible to encourage and support junior modelling enthusiasts. It just needs to be done properly. The hobby owes them that
