The NunatuKavut Community Council (NCC) is embracing the digital age to preserve Inuit history for future generations. Through digital archives, oral history recordings, and multimedia storytelling, NCC is capturing the knowledge, traditions, and stories that define our communities.
One such example is the Culture and Communications Team as part of NCC's NunatuKavut Youth Action Project. This group of youth are learning valuable multimedia skills from video production and editing to interviewing skills. Through this project, funded through the Canada Service Corps, Youth are being encouraged to help share stories about Inuit history, culture and community life through video.
These digital initiatives make culture accessible, whether through online collections, interactive resources, or social media highlights, allowing us to learn from the past and carry our heritage forward.
By bridging traditional knowledge with modern technology, NCC ensures that the culture of NunatuKavut Inuit remains living, evolving, and accessible to every generation.
