I finished the sequel trilogy over the weekend. I don't have much to say about the first two that you @TFL1728 haven't already said. Was it the story I would have told? No, but the story I would have told wouldn't have been speaking to Gen Z kids, which was their goal. I actually enjoyed Rise of Skywalker most out of the 3. Aside from some clunky exposition("somehow Palpatine returned") which was lazy writing but not as horrible as the memes made it out to be, I had fun. "Rise" was darker in tone which is up my alley. Rey descends into the underworld to confront her Devil Archetype manifest as the tyrannical father. The result is that Kylo Ren(her animus) heals her and disappears(full integration). The third movie is a retelling of sleeping beauty and it worked. I also throughly enjoyed the "dark Rey" force vision. Daisy did great.

*Spoiler* In the final episode where Valya has to transmute the AI fear virus to survive, I was fucking pumped. Clearly, they meant for this to be the origin of the Litany against fear. Kicked ass.

Valya Harkonnen was by far my favorite character in Dune Prophecy. Despite her ruthless will to power, machiavellian competence, and willingness to sacrifice almost anyone to achieve her ambitions, I find myself wanting her to succeed. I'm going to read Sisterhood of Dune now.

I'm going to revisit some of the Brian Herbert Dune novels. While none of them reach the same intellectual level of his father's work(particularly the first four books), they are good young adult books. And, some of them are more entertaining than Frank's later stories.

Luongo has thoroughly convinced me to jump back into SW. I completely skipped Rise of Skywalker. And now my head cannon will always be Rey as Obi-Wan's granddaughter. Fun geekcast

I started Dune Prophesy last night. Two episodes in, and I am enjoying it more than the Villeneuve movies so far. I've gone in blind without reading any critic opinions. I'm going to do this more often.
