Big thanks to the team for spending the day clearing up after the inconsiderate few whoβve left lots of waste around Haweswater. Four full vans of rubbish removed and lots of fire pits dismantled. Itβs a beautiful corner of the #LakeDistrict, so letβs all look after it.

As well as general litter, Nicola and local volunteers at the Lake District are finding larger items dumped - from tents to kayaks - sometimes being burnt, which sharply increases the risk of wildfires.

Good chance meeting with @LakesPlasticCol on Side Pike Langdale for @fixthefells and @LakesVolunteers @NTCentralFells whilst we were building drains as others were having a good walk and litter picking. Top people for doing so. Should not be necessary butβ¦. etc.
