#LamontCounty Agricultural Service Board has PAUSED access to strychnine for Richardson Ground Squirrel control. Due to shipping delays, it is too late in the season for effective use. Access will be available in early 2027 for use in the spring season. Mandatory training is still required and there are significant fines for illegal use. Emergency Use Approval for 2% liquid strychnine is only allowed in certain areas of Alberta and Saskatchewan. Required training started May 4 - see lamontcounty.ca/strychnine for info. They are asking for feedback on the inundation maps to aid with #emergencyresponse, hazard maps, and for long-term planning. Access more information and the survey at alberta.ca/lamont-flood-stud….
