I refused to go through confirmation.
It was a family tradition but I didn’t want to do something I didn’t believe in just for the gifts. Felt like abuse of the faith of others.
My parents and grandparents were disappointed, which is strange because we are all atheists 🤷🏻♂️

Is this the case in most individuals? Yes. In all? No. You can be XX but phenotypically male, and likewise you can be XY and phenotypically female. You can even have both XX and XY simultaneously and be healthy.

Sex is a product of an incredibly complex process and falls on a bimodal distribution. To narrow it down to sexed chromosomes is a gross simplification. Biology is complicated and doesn’t play with the categories we have made up.

This image is incredibly misleading.
The sexual dimorphism in humans is very tiny but this image makes it look like there are huge differences. Women also have scapulas, women also have hips. Bone size scales more with body size than it does sex.

The one place in the human skeleton that we can somewhat easily tell apart males from females is the pelvis. Females have, on average, wider pelvis to aid in childbirth. But there is also huge overlap.

Some people are stupid. Whether they're religious or not is incidental. Some of history's greatest minds believed in a higher power: Aristotle, Aquinas, Descartes, Newton, Leibniz, Gödel, Einstein (God of Spinoza).
Being religious is being human.

Please, I beg of you. Stop these bad memes. Atheism doesn’t entail any of this.
I can easily make up a list for Christians or Muslims or Hindus that paint them in a bad light, but why would I? Does it improve people’s lives? Does it get us closer to what is true? No. Do better.

Insulting others and creating strawmen will never be helpful. We need to work together, not against each other.
If people cared more about what is true than they do about making fun of others we would all be a lot happier.
