🏈A message from Coach Teicheira🏈 Dear Spartan Nation, It is with a heavy heart that I announce my decision to step down as the head football coach at Lathrop High School. This decision was not an easy one by any means but it was made with my family’s best interest at heart. As my three children continue to grow, and with my oldest entering high school soon, it is important that I am able to be more present and involved during these pivotal and formative years of their lives. For as long as I can remember, becoming a head coach had been a dream of mine. After 10 years of coaching at the high school level, Lathrop High gave me my first opportunity and turned that dream into a reality. When I arrived, I didn’t know what to expect. What I did know was that I wanted to make an impact and build something special - a program rooted in hard work, commitment, accountability, discipline, development, and most importantly…family. Culture means everything to me, and it has been my goal that every athlete who stepped into this program would leave better than when they arrived - not only as a football player, but as a student, a young man, and a member of this community. “Be the Change” was our mantra during my first few years here, and I am proud to say we did exactly that and so much more. The amount of work and dedication poured into this program over the past five years by our coaches, players, staff, parents, families, and the entire Lathrop community has been nothing short of incredible. We built this together and I am truly grateful to have been a part of it all. To my coaching staff: Thank you for believing in me and in the vision we shared. The countless hours you invested season after season to help move this program forward have not gone unnoticed. I could not have asked for a better group to take this journey with. To my players - past and present: I am incredibly proud of each and every one of you. This program has grown and achieved so much because of your commitment and hard work. We have made a name for ourselves and proven that we belong. Always remember that. While I may be stepping away, I will always be in your corner. This program is destined for great things and I look forward to seeing what the future holds for you. To the Lathrop High administration and faculty: Thank you for your leadership, guidance, and belief in our program. Especially Coach Leland and Mr. Selna - none of this would have been possible without your mentorship, which played a vital role in both my growth and our success. You took a chance on me five years ago and I will always be grateful for the trust you placed in me and the opportunity to lead Lathrop football. And finally, to the entire Lathrop community - supporters, fans, and beyond: Thank you for welcoming my family and I with open arms and standing behind our program.
