It was a baptism of fire for the new Lazonby truck when we got called out in the early hours of Saturday morning to an outbuilding on fire at Ainstable.
Upon arrival the building was well alight with 2 vehicles inside,

which were also involved in the fire. The risk of fire spread to other nearby buildings and vehicles was high. The fire ground was quickly established and water applied to the fire using a 45mm hose by 2x BA Wearers. The initial attack suppressed the fire,

while a water supply was set up.
Carlisle East, Brampton, and Penrith crews provided essential personnel and water support. A total of 6 BA wearers, 2x 45mm Hoses and 1 Hose Reel Jet were used to extinguish the fire.
Crews were detained for approximately 3 hours.

This morning Lazonby and Penrith crews were mobilised to a domestic property fire at Melmerby.
On arrival crews were met by an established fire in a ground floor garage. A domestic bungalow was above the garage and all occupants had been

accounted for and had evacuated the property.
Whilst it was obvious the garage building and stored property could not be saved it was important to prevent fire spread to the bungalow.
2x Hose reel jets, thermal image cameras, small tools and a total of 6x BA wearers were used

to extinguish the fire. Raking over the area and damping down was done to prevent any fire reigniting.
Crews were detained for approximately 4 hours.
