Next up for Hytale: friend lists and server discovery! Friend lists are coming to pre-release this week: you'll be able to see when your friends are online, jump into their world, invite them, or join the server they're playing on. A few days later, we'll open applications for servers to be listed in a new in-game server browser. It's been about 3 months, and some great community servers have already come together nicely! FYI, we've been working on the server's performance and will keep at it, but now feels like the right time to start letting players find these servers in-game! A blog post is coming that will lay out how server discovery will work going forward. Note that update 5 isn't a big gameplay content drop, but there's a lot happening under the hood. We're deep in engine work, performance, overhauling crafting and progression, and part of the team is also working on our first major content update, Chapter 1. And there's a lot of cool stuff we're working on beyond these updates. We'll share more in the coming weeks! As a sidenote, the team is growing, and we will be hiring a lot in the coming months! We have a lot of work to do for years to come. BTW, the next wave of hires is going to heavily focus on adventure content: World Gen / NPC / Dungeons, and so on. Lots to do before the game leaves early access!

Since this post, we've brought on some incredible talent. Last week, I approved major changes to the crafting and progression direction. Complete overhaul of the foundation. This will redefine the future of the game. Every system, every update we build from here, sits on top of what's coming. Can't share details yet, but this is the biggest shift since we got the game back. More soon.
Hiring automation & tinkering devs/designers for Hytale! Weโ€™re exploring physics-driven systems built around real, physical parts. Gears, shafts, belts, pulleys, rotation, motion, power generation and transmission, logic, and machines that players can assemble, break, and optimize. The design challenge is to make it feel like a natural extension of the game, fully optional, easy to engage with at a small scale, yet capable of deep complexity and automation for players who want to go further! Tag a dev or modder who builds this kind of stuff. Iโ€™ll be scouting in the coming weeks, and roles will be open to apply for if needed by then!

Itโ€™s now been 7 days since early access launch and I can confidently say that I have no regrets saving Hytale, itโ€™s been the most challenging but rewarding experience of my life. Thank you everyone for the amazing support, and a big thank you for the rebuilt Hytale team for trusting me to get this to the finish line in just a few months. I havenโ€™t been involved with Hytale development for many years and coming back was a big unknown and risk for me, and my family. I fully trusted the people and it just worked. Amazing team, every single one made a big difference.

To all #Hytale modders. IMO it is currently on us to help pump out content for the community, and give the dev team enough time and space to cook. This game will receive awesome updates, but the devs arenโ€™t just adding new content, they are fixing bugs, building out infra tooling, refactoring, etc, which all takes time. Meanwhile, if we want this game to reach its full potential, we need to give players stuff to explore, and stay with the game while it evolves. Keep it in their heads. Give them a reason to log back on after completing everything in the game. We have been given such amazing tooling and a beautiful api. Letโ€™s take advantage of it and make some awesome stuff both for the community, and for the devs! The game is in early access, and regardless we already got some fire patches. The team will cook, and I canโ€™t wait to see this game in its full glory.
