Since tons of people are starting to LF collegiate apex, I wanted to throw out a block of text to approach how to go about it! Remember, there is a multitude of ways and no PERFECT option but this (imo) is a start! If anyone has more recs, please feel free to share! ๐
1. Make an LFT post on twitter; ideally, you list your achievements, what year of school you're in, what semester you're intended on starting college in, and more general information about yourself. Tools like
@Stay_Plugged_In the
@League_OS portal as well as recruitment channels like the school-promotion channel in
@OctaneCollege can help kickstart your search for schools interested and/or offering as well.
2. Your goal is to basically try and convince a university that they should be spending government funding on you and bring you in, so reaching out to school staff, networking/getting to know the collegiate scene in discords, talking to collegiate directors that are actively recruiting, getting to know the market and chasing opportunities are all INTEGRAL; you never know, school staff recruiting that may pass on you can still help share your name around internally to other interested directors/school staff and is a massive opportunity so always reach out!
3. If none of those are options you find appealing, or you strike out, you can always still join the collegiate scene through the normal college admission process; apply and attend whatever school you want and try and form (or join) the Apex Legends team there! This is also a suitable way of making sure you can go to your dream school / program and potentially getting to still compete with a high level roster. In fact, some of our most successful teams have taken this path (
@TAMUEsports &
@KennesawEsports) where theyโve had good players at the school play together and dominate, even without scholarship support.
โผ๏ธ At the end of the day, your education comes first and apex second, so ALWAYS keep your education goals and thoughts first and foremost when considering schools and choose carefully! Picking a college is a life-defining moment, so don't be rash and be 200% sure before you commit!
