Recently switched to @BellAliant FiberOp Internet. After waiting on hold indefinitely this morning, I realize I have made a grave mistake. This was my second unsuccessful attempt to reach a human (I also scheduled a service call online, but they never showed up).

Just picked up the form for the new pier/base for the @AbbeyRidgeObs restoration project! (We only need ~4 ft, but this diameter form only comes in one size). YouTube video coming soon!

As many of you know, my book "A Kid's Guide to The Night Sky" is coming out this October (previously "Learn To Stargaze for Kids"). @BNBuzz is offering 25% off all Preorders between July 10th and July 17th. Check it out!

More than a glancing blow! NOAA prediction model shows the Earth-directed #solarstorm launched yesterday should impact early on August 1. NASA concurs. G1-G2 storm conditions possible, with #aurora views possibly through August 2.

Representing the @csa_asc on #Artemis II to the Moon is @Astro_Jeremy, from London, Ontario. Jeremy Hansen was a fighter pilot before joining CSA, and currently works with NASA on astronaut training and mission operations. This will be Hansen’s first mission in space.

I between Tiffany and I, we’ve probably shared the view through a telescope with upwards of 30,000 people through various outreach events. I’d think John D would be quite happy with our efforts. He’d also be impressed at how Starsense helps people find DSO’s from the city.

Rest in Peace Terence Dickinson. You were one of the most prolific astronomers of our time, an inspiration to me and so many others.

Comet C/2022E3 is pretty cool, but what’s really impressive is the sub-arcsecond guiding with the iOptron Skyhunter mount this morning!

If yesterday's #DART mission was a high school algebra question.

It will be interesting to see how close the basic algebra comes to the actual results. By these calculations, #Dimorphos will slow down by 0.17 meters per second, and its distance from #Didymos will be reduced by 9 meters.

Correction, #Dimorphos would slow down by 0.0007 meters per second (I forgot to subtract new from old).
