Witnessed my Principal and mentor @mikkihymus receive a King Charles III Coronation Medal yesterday at our Gr. 6 Grad. I cannot think of anyone who deserves this more. She has moved mountains for so many students, families and staff.
Well, something happened yesterday.
At the @TDSBGatewayPS Grade 6 graduation @ShamjiAdil bestowed me the King Charles III Coronation Medal in recognition of Service to Canada. I am beyond humbled & deeply touched. @tdsb@npersaudLC4@LC2_TDSB
Celebrated @TDSBGatewayPS’s Grade 6 cohort with a trip to the park. The most perfect weather - breezy and not too hot with shade from the beautiful trees - so great for our students to connect, play and just “be” with each other for hours. Congrats!
The Common Table Farm also provided a way for my students to continue their learning at home - they delivered 24 garden kits that included a felt pot, a huge bag of soil, seeds, a lettuce plant and a book on how to grow food at home. @TDSBGatewayPS
Extremely grateful for the opportunity that The Common Table Farm gave us on Tuesday to come learn in their vegetable garden. Ss learned how to layer compost and plant ginger among other biodiversity points! @TDSBGatewayPS
Always so emotional every year, I get so attached. Despite how hard it is sometimes - they have my heart from Day 1 and saying goodbye is hard. Thank goodness for future visits and little notes over the years to keep in touch with this “family.”
Congratulations to our grade 8 boys’ cricket team on winning all games and becoming conference champions! City Finals, here we come! 🏏 🐾 ✨ @frajwani@npersaudLC4@mmefrhmnd@LC2_TDSB@tdsb
🎶 Stories, songs & smiles 🎶
Our K–2s were captivated by Indigenous storyteller Jennie Town, who brought culture to life through music, drum & heart.🧡
Stories don’t just teach — they connect.

1/4 of my class made the Ultimate Frisbee team. Ran into them this morning on their way to compete at their tournament and snapped a selfie. So proud of them all! Way to represent @TDSBGatewayPS
Our Jungle Photo Booth was a highlight of the book fair for classes, teachers, and of course - our amazing team of volunteers! @TDSBGatewayPS@TDSBLibrary@LC2_TDSB
I often think “are they learning anything?” I think it’s because I feel like I’m just putting out fires and getting pulled away from “the plan”. But then here I am on a Sunday night pulling together my monthly newsletter and realizing - they are learning.
So grateful for this inspiring author presentation to our Gr. 6’s at @TDSBGatewayPS. Both our students and teachers connected on a deep level with @AmbreenBHussain. Very important message on not giving up. Thank you @msdlombardo for coordinating! ambreenbutthussain.com
Working with our @tdsb Math Learning Partner Ms. Pain on recognizing and comparing Area, Set and Line models of fractions. She comes once a week to work with our Gr. 6’s @TDSBGatewayPS
Our #STEAMMD challenges for the month of April were Earth Day themed. One of the choices was to make a water filter and that’s what my class chose! Large rocks, medium rocks and felt made quite a difference! Discussed the importance of access to clean water.
You know those moments that make you tear because your heart is so full? This was one of them. Jacob Diamond came as our musical guest at @TDSBGatewayPS today. Listen to the sound of over 300 children singing. ❤️
My Gr. 6’s had a successful first “booking” of our Outdoor Learning space at @TDSBGatewayPS today. First we checked in on the garlic we planted in November, then we did our whole Drama class activity using the new chairs and circle! Thank you @shojarahi for helping us get in!
I actually teared when I saw these in our library the other week - I was so moved. Thank you @msdlombardo for making sure our library reflects our students. ❤️
Representation matters. Every new picture book on display right now connects to the diverse cultures and identities at Gateway! @TDSBGatewayPS@TDSBLibrary
I know who’ll be booking this space often! 🙋🏼♀️ My students went before it looked like this to plant garlic and look at the Three Sisters Garden back in the Fall. Can’t wait for them to check on the garlic and see this!
Thank you so much @EcoSpark_Env for coming to @TDSBGatewayPS this week and taking six of our Gr. 5 and Gr. 6 classes outside to experience our Measurement, Data Literacy and Biodiversity units in a real way. Citizen science was a beautiful approach!
We received a letter in my mailbox the other week as part of #thegreatcanadianmailrace. We took on the challenge and researched schools across Canada, learned letter writing, how to address envelopes, how much stamps cost and walked to the post box!
