lilbear quit tft in set 14, got a job, and came back. then, he won set 16 APAC regionals. we talked about what inspired him to compete, performance under pressure, and how he's still not sure if the journey has been worth it. youtu.be/NEZtx8uhuYg

question to myself: if losing feels like shit and winning doesn't fix it, grinding harder isn't the answer. so what're you actually trying to do?

We asked top TFT players applying to our learning & community platform a few questions about community, studying, and growth. Here’s what we found 👇 (1/4)

Study habits are accelerating fast. Players drawn to our values want to study nearly 2x more in Set 16 compared to Set 15. The higher the LP, the more deliberate the study routine. (3/4)

Quick clarification: the study-to-play ratio shows time spent studying vs playing, not total hours. So going from 0.5 → 1.0 means 1 hr study per 2 hrs play → 1 hr per 1 hr — about a 50–70% bump in study intent, not 2x total time. Thanks @wigwugg for catching this!

Studying doesn’t feel like a big grind. Mid-LP players report the smoothest study flow, while players at the extremes (both low and high LP) find it a bit tougher to sustain. Our goal: make studying feel as natural as playing. (4/4)

Most players study too little. We're fixing that.
Most players play too much and study too little. If you truly want to climb, studying is more effective, especially early in a patch. I hit challenger in 172 games by studying more than playing.
