Well, yesterday afternoon was exciting to say the least. Magma intruded into the dyke but didn't make it to the surface to erupt. Are we disappointed that we didn't get measurements of the eruption start like we planned? Yes and no 🧵

#Fagradalsfjall crater collapsed in the early hours and the lava is flowing to the west towards Litli-Hrútur. Our team is there today so will have the best view of the splashing magma @WainmanLaura @Svarmi
