NEW: Ban on Palestine Action ruled lawful by Court of Appeal. Co-founder of PA, Huda Ammori, says she will “fight proscription all the way” to the Supreme Court and European Court of Human Rights to overturn “one of the most extreme attacks on free speech and the right to protest in modern British history”.
Replying to @harriepw
BREAKING: The government wins its appeal. The Court of Appeal has ruled today that the ban on Palestine Action is a lawful, justified and proportionate interference with individual rights.

This is absolutely insane. The suffragettes used far more extreme tactics than Palestine Action. They planted bombs, burned down private homes and smashed up art galleries. They killed five people! Her outrageous judgement is based on absurd historical ignorance.
The Lady Chief Justice: Palestine Action was not a direct action civil disobedience protest group like the suffragettes, but used violence to destroy property The suffragettes burned down country houses & train stations, bombed churches & sent letter bombs to politicians.

This Governments branding of protest as 'terrorism' has seen grandparents arrested and dragged through the courts simply for holding up signs. It's deeply authoritarian when people are speaking out against a genocide and for a free Palestine.

Why is a bill rejected by the Lords back in the Commons in the same parliamentary session? Exactly the same bill, just a different MP picked (for having used a gross ableist slur?) to front it. How is this lawful? Back to "finish the job" — some wording bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c4gy…

Today’s ruling to uphold the UK government's proscription of Palestine Action is a travesty of justice. One by one, the very foundations of our democracy are being destroyed — all to oil the wheels of British complicity in genocide. Our government has participated in the mass murder of Palestinians. That is the real crime, and we must bring about justice.

Solidarity to Grenfell survivors who suffer the eternal pain of loss, nine years on. 72 people died because of corporate greed and negligence. We still do not have justice. In unity we must defeat austerity & privatisation for good — and defend housing as a human right for all.

I$rael strikes Beirut’s southern suburbs on the eve of the potential signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the US and Iran which reportedly includes Lebanon. Attacks such as this follow a pattern every time there is a potential deal on the table and this latest bombing appears to be a clear attempt by Netanyahu to scupper any agreement and continue it’s bloody war on Lebanon and keep him out of jail.

BREAKING: Apocalyptic scenes in Lebanon’s capital right now. Israel is bombing residential buildings in densely populated neighborhoods of Beirut. A ceasefire that still allows bombs to fall on civilians is not a ceasefire.

There are currently around 705k job vacancies in the UK. There are ALREADY around 1.81 million who are unemployed and actively looking for work. Politicians of every party are endlessly saying disability benefits must be cut to force disabled into work. What jobs will they do?

'Handouts to handups’ The language of the Tories. A Labour MP. Apparently a leadership candidate. While they refuse to end handouts to the super rich.

Neurodivergent me can’t understand how politicians from all parties keep publishing the same op-ed day after day, breathlessly announcing that work is the answer to welfare as though they’ve just discovered cheese. We’ve been hearing this for 30 years.

Sentenced and imprisoned on grounds of “terrorism” that no jury ever convicted them of. Meanwhile, the British government continues to aid and abet the greatest crime of our time. A historic miscarriage of justice — and a truly dark day for civil liberties in this country.
🚨BREAKING -- The Palestine Action defendants have been sentenced for a combined total of more than 25 years. Charlotte Head - 6 years Leona Kamio - 6 years Fatema Zainab - 5 years and 8 months Samuel Corner - 8 years and 8 months

Palestinian Football Association President Jibril Rajoub said he has not received entry visas to the United States and Canada to attend the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Rajoub stated that granting visas to World Cup participants is a right guaranteed under FIFA regulations, not a privilege, and argued that denying him entry reflects a lack of respect for both FIFA and the unifying values of sport.
