Haiti have been the surprise team of the tournament so far performance-wise.
They equalled Scotland's xG and were unlucky to lose.
◽️ 4-2-4 build-up where they can play through or over,
◽️ 3-1-6 high with both fullbacks on the top line with Bellegarde and Jean-Jacques managing the build-up as the #6 and #8,
◽️ Man-to-man high,
◽️ 4-4-2 in open play where they were passive and defended low.
Well coached. Lots of dynamic players with good balance and relationships across the pitch.
A big reason as to why they lost the game was because of Scotland's attentiveness to restart quickly from goal kicks which prevented Haiti from locking on man-to-man so they ended up sitting off and conceded from a lack of pressure on the ball.
The standard at this level is ruthless.
They will be kicking themselves for allowing Scotland to do that to them.
But, at the same time, they should be proud of themselves for going toe-to-toe with a nation that they don't have a right to compete with on paper…
Well done to Sébastien Migné and his team 👏
