Jimmy Carr nailed something a lot of us feel but can’t explain. We’re living better than 99.9% of humans who ever walked the earth, hot showers, modern medicine, endless entertainment, kids that actually survive infancy, yet so many of us feel miserable. He calls it “life dysmorphia.” We get used to how good we have it (the hedonic treadmill), then compare ourselves to everyone else and tank our own happiness. As he puts it: happiness = quality of life minus envy. Marcus Aurelius put it perfectly: “Very little is needed to make a happy life; it is all within yourself in your way of thinking.” When was the last time you caught yourself feeling unhappy despite objectively having it pretty damn good?

In relation to the SpaceX IPO, it’s clear a lot of folks have never read an S-1 before. The language I see some people freaking out about are incredibly common in most IPO S-1’s. It’s written by lawyers and finance folks, it’s meant to be scary so you’re “fully informed.”

Two cops played quick-draw with loaded guns. One pointed his gun at the other. The other drew his own gun from inside the patrol car. Then a round went through the windshield and hit the first officer in the shoulder. And somehow, the city called it “horseplay.” If a civilian did this, nobody would call it horseplay. They’d call it a negligent discharge, aggravated assault, or worse. But this is the double standard gun owners deal with every day. We’re constantly told civilians can’t be trusted with guns. We’re too emotional, too reckless, too untrained, too dangerous. We’re told to leave it to the “professionals.” Then two cops play around with loaded firearms and shoot each other. This doesn’t mean every cop is reckless. It means cops are people. Some train seriously. Some don’t. Some are responsible. Some aren’t. Just like civilians. But when one citizen does something stupid, politicians try to punish every law-abiding gun owner in America. When one cop does something stupid, nobody argues every cop should lose their Glock. That’s the inconsistency. So next time someone says “only cops should carry,” remember the windshield. Full video just released on my youtube channel Shop the America hat: Shop.MrColionNoir.com

You know: “our AI is so powerful the government is afraid of it” isn’t a terrible IPO hype story. ;)
The US government, citing national security authorities, has issued an export control directive to suspend all access to Fable 5 and Mythos 5 by any foreign national, whether inside or outside the United States, including foreign national Anthropic employees. The net effect of this order is that we must abruptly disable Fable 5 and Mythos 5 for all our customers to ensure compliance. Access to all other Claude models is not affected. We apologize for this disruption to our customers. We believe this is a misunderstanding and are working to restore access as soon as possible. Read our full statement: anthropic.com/news/fable-myt…

What’s impressive to me is how we’ve all seemingly just accepted that it’s fine for businesses to force their customers through buggy AI and it’s okay because “AI makes mistakes.” We’ve all just shrugged and accepted shoddy work as inevitable.

As someone who regularly teaches people new to guns how to handle firearms safely, this really hurts my soul.
Pasadena Officer Shot by Fellow Officer During "Horseplay," Chief Says PASADENA, Calif. — The Pasadena Police Department has released a Critical Incident Video concerning an officer-involved shooting that occurred on September 7, 2025, inside the department's parking structure at 240 Ramona Street in Pasadena. The incident resulted in injuries to one Pasadena police officer, who has since recovered. Pasadena Police Chief Gene Harris said the incident involved "unsafe, out-of-policy horseplay involving loaded firearms" between department personnel. Chief Harris stated that one officer was wounded as a result of the shooting and emphasized that the conduct depicted in the video did not reflect the department's standards or expectations. The injured officer was transported for medical treatment and has since recovered from the injuries sustained during the incident. Pasadena police have not publicly identified the officers involved, and no members of the public were injured. The case remains under investigation and review by the Pasadena Police Department and the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office. The comments. Oh the comments. There is no pure question of "moving or not." Our planet spins at 1040mph, our planet rotates the Sun at 67,100mph, Our solar system is moving. Our galaxy is moving. The only valid question is "moving relative to what frame of reference?"
Explain using physics: Is the drone stationary or moving at 50 kph?

People are asking why it would be running a very bright light. Multiple reasons, could have had an emergency for all we know. But most likely, would be to keep its silhouette from being seen from certain aspects from the ground. Bright lights are established practice for concealing classified aircraft, especially on the ground. Doing the same during lower level transits over areas where people could be watching would make sense. Thermal it won't help, but to the eye and low light/nv scopes it would.

I watched the @ProjectFearX Area 51 video that dropped today and had got a lot of hype about an unknown aircraft caught on camera. I’ll be honest it looked legit to me. And it certainly looks like nothing I am aware of in our inventory. Very odd it had on l anding light. 1/2

There is some cheese in the video production but @uncannyex is very legit/credible and helped out the Project Fear crew with gear and location. Likely it was a classified test bed demonstrator probably supporting a something like the F-47 project. 2/2.
