We must create a districtwide culture of belonging, from the district to the school to each individual classroom. Now scheduling summer and fall professional learning and educator coaching opportunities...let's partner to embrace the full humanity of every student & colleague.
If we are to truly move beyond surface "inclusion" to belonging, we must actively and deliberately create universally designed spaces for our students and for the adults who serve them.

My AP told me I logged more detentions and interventions in the system than anyone else this year. But I was also one of the lowest for major incidents in my room and my students were some of the better behaved. My failure rate was about the same as the other freshman teachers.
