This style of speech is called affective framing btw.

We are banning social media access for under 16s.
These days kids must find their feet in a world where technology intrudes into every area of their life.

you are right, power is obviously a concern but there’s no reason why any indexing couldn’t be done overnight whilst charging - in fact this is what the photos app does currently. but even indexing could in the future be fine-tuned and condensed into a much smaller model.
