Deep down, you can tell he's a genuinely good fella. The way he handled everything that happened off the pitch during the summer was excellent, and that first season was unbelievable. It's sad how it all ended, but he'll always be remembered for delivering that league title.
🚨 EXCL: Arne Slot says goodbye to Liverpool fans. “It’s been an amazing ride together with Liverpool, I am so grateful that we were able to win the league last season”. ❤️

Liverpool FC can confirm Arne Slot is to depart his role as head coach with immediate effect and that the process to appoint a successor is under way. He leaves with a Premier League title to his name and our deepest gratitude and appreciation.

In all seriousness deserved some kind of send off or appreciation for the league win, regardless of how shite last season was.

After the tragedy of Hillsborough, it was a reflective and poignant build-up to the second all-Merseyside FA Cup Final in four years. The sun shone on Wembley on 20/05/1989 as the two great rivals played out a classic. Aldridge gave Liverpool an early lead, which they held until the final minute, when Everton substitute Stuart McCall levelled to force extra time. The added period belonged to a familiar tormentor of Everton, Ian Rush. Just as he had three years earlier, he proved the hero once again. The result went the way of the Reds, but the city was united.
