I was traumatized by responding to @DGlaucomflecken’s cardiac arrest & my interactions with the healthcare system during that time. I went to the Quiet Place (link in bio) and needed a bridge to walk out. These are the words that built my bridge. May they build one for others.

Yesterday my partner moved away to prepare for starting residency in a new city. I’m so proud of him to start the next phase of his training, but also heartbroken that we will be apart for the next 4 years. It’s so sad that medicine can tear people apart like this… 1/2

It’s really hard to sign over & walk away from the hospital when a patient in your care is deteriorating clinically. And so I want to thank our loved ones and families who become accustomed to these unpredictable situations when we miss things or are late.
