Rabun Gap senior RJ Lacossade has committed to Southern Wesleyan University to continue his basketball career.
Lacossade led Rabun Gap in points and rebounds this season while leading the Eagles to the NCISAA quarterfinals. He is just the seventh player from Turks and Caicos to make it to the collegiate level according to RealGM.com

This is the official state playoff bracket for boys basketball in Class 4A of the NCISAA.
Rabun Gap comes in as the No. 5 seed and will host Covenant Day on Tuesday, Feb. 17 at 6:30 p.m. If Rabun Gap wins they will be on the road vs No. 4 Charlotte Latin on Friday, Feb. 20.
Rabun Gap did not play Convent Day or Charlotte Latin in the regular season.

From Jon Scheyer to Bob Richey to D2 coaches to NAIA coaches - they’re all talking about the “rollercoaster” ups and downs of coaching in today’s game.
It doesn’t matter who you recruit. Every year you bring in 3,4,5, or more new players. Recruit high schoolers, and it’ll take time for them to mature through college game reps. Bring in transfers, and it’ll take time acclimating to your program’s culture. The results will be ups and downs throughout your season.
Coaches can’t get too high with the wins or too low with the losses.
Strong cultures with transformational leaders and players who buy in and develop mental toughness will have the best chances for success.
