It was going to be Emma didn’t get to play or Seth would miss the baseball game. Seth finally decided called Coach Burnett. Coach Burnett was very understanding and told Seth he hoped he wouldn’t expect him to miss Emma’s tournament. Even better, Gilbert won 1-0!!

Seth, you know that he has given his full devotion to coaching baseball for 15 years now. In those 15 years, he has NEVER missed a game. He was in a tough spot, as he has been Emma’s caddy all season. With golf, a caddy is not just someone who carries the clubs.

As an AD, I often wonder why questions about a specific sport are directed to me before the coach. A strong program is built on trust and structure. The AD sets the culture and expectations, but the coach is responsible for the day to day decisions of the program. That line matters.
