Long post…sorry..,
I have begun my journey into art and craft back in 2021 right before covid I happened. Back then, on top of world wide epidemic and lockdowns I was going through a very difficult time of my life. Just when I started I was limited on paint and so I was collecting flowers, drying them and arranging them in different motives. Then I got into painting. I have watched many YouTube videos and taught myself how to paint in oils, watercolors, pastels, alcohol inks, acrylics. I love all of them! Then I decided to take a stained glass class ran by our local artist and fell in love with glass immediately. Then I found a broken glass flower in my garage that used to be a garden stick and paired it with a broken shell creating this mini installation. I had no idea how was this glass made, so I have started researching and learning about flameworking. I took a two hour class in it and got absolutely hooked head over hills forever. I wanted to learn more and thought taking additional class in a glass studio in RI would be great. I have signed up for a glass mushroom class, thinking, oh, cool I will make a pendant. OMG! When I came to that study I had no idea that I have signed up for a real hot shop glass blowing class. From there I literally just couldn’t not stop, I was hooked. I will never forget when I saw a first gather of molten glass turning into mushroom stem then a mushroom cap, all with just movement and feeling of gravity and how glass behaves when it cools. Then I was in for over 6 months of taking different glass blowing classes learning to make, flowers, cups, floppy bowls, small sculptures like fish and a dolphin. I have even made a tulip bowl out of 3 gather clear glass (largest piece I have created so far). Then goblets… During this time I have invested into a very nice torch that would allow me to grow and right after I was done with my glass blowing classes I have begun self learning flameworking creating beads and now small sculptures / pendants. At that time I also fell in love with silversmithing. Long time ago I was studying it in MassArt , and so really long story here I am feeling like I finally found my voice, something that I can leave on this planet after I am gone. I will let my work to speak for itself and just be as something I have discovered within myself.
