think for fuck's sake. we are gamers, we can play how we want, designers must design an experience. how we choose to deal with it is up to us. so if the designers just give an item that bypasses said intended experience, then they're destroying the integrity of their own design.

No its up to you. Hence why its been that way for two years. Getting mad that they added a QoL is just performative outrage. The did the exact same thing in DD1. No one is forcing you to use the item.
Our choice but the designers have an intended experience. our characters is our choice but exploration and world traversal is up to the designers. how can you not see that this ruins exploration? which is done so much better in DD2 than in DD1?
