Who shutdown the government? 1. If the house fails to pass a budget or CR, they did it. 2. If the Senate fails to vote for it, then they did it. 3. If the President fails to sign it, then he did it. The house passed it. Democrats threatened a filibuster in the Senate. Republicans don't have enough votes (60) to bypass a filibuster. This Queens, New York born and raised yankee can’t express in words enough how much I adore our brothers and sisters in the South.  I spend a lot of time in God’s country of Auburn, Alabama and each and every time my heart leaves full of joy and hope.  The spirit of love for God and country in the South is infectious, and you can’t help but smile as people greet with you a “sir” or “ma’am.”  I wasn’t born here but I’ll always consider this my adopted home. I am directing flags be returned to full staff on the grounds of the Alabama State Capitol and all state buildings January 20, for Inauguration Day. Tuesday, January 21, all flags will, once again, fly at half-staff to resume the 30-day period of mourning for President Carter.

Our governments should be forbidden from justifying any secrecy or lying on the pretext of preventing “panic”. That rationalization becomes universal camouflage for betrayal and coverup.
