Linn County’s IT systems have been fully restored and public services have resumed as normal following a global technology outage on July 19 caused by an automatic software update from CrowdStrike, which the County uses for malware and virus protection.

The global internet outage being reported in the news is affecting Linn County services. We are in the process of triaging the outage and working to bring County computers back up. Services are limited until computer service is fully restored.

The County's website LinnCountyIowa.gov is working and the public may be able to access online services through the website if their internet service is not affected by the outage.
