compress [options] files - lets you compress files. Option "-v" lets you see compression statistics http://bit.ly/1I2TTV

cal [options] [[month] year] - this one prints out a calendar of the date you specify. One of the options "-y" will show a whole year.

acpi [options] - shows Advanced Configuration and Power Interface info. Some options are -t, for thermal info and -V , to show everything
