Banning smartphones in schools is good for learning and well-being. New study of 400 middle schools in Norway: after smartphone bans, girls had fewer mental health issues & better grades. Boys and girls were less likely to be bullied. Smartphones belong at home or in lockers.

Paul West has put together a list of open-ended and creative tasks that teachers can offer students when they are done early or have extra time. He placed these options in a menu inside Google Forms. You can make a copy of his template and customize! thepdubyatech.wordpress.com/…

I swear half my job in the classroom isn't teaching content. It's teaching kids that YES YOU CAN. I believe in you. You can do this. #MattsBackInClass

Want to prepare your baby for a lifetime of success? Make literacy a priority from the start. Surround your child with spoken and written language. Speak, read, sing. And model reading as a skill - and interest - of your own. (Remember there’s nobody your child wants to emulate more than you.) I love what this family has created, adding literacy to their daily mealtime routines. After each meal, the children hear books read aloud - which is followed by a short period of independent exploration with books. Look at how attentive these little guys are. At this age, start small… even a minute or two at a time can help start a lifetime habit. And never forget that literacy learning begins long before children enter kindergarten. Want them to do well in school? Don’t wait until they get there to begin. Does/did your baby have favorite board books? I’d love to add them to my list. This highly literate lunchtime was posted to IG by zaintwinzz.

#Teachertwitter Here is a list of teachers who have lost their homes. The teachers from Kamehameha III school also lost their classrooms. If you would like to support #teachers directly this is a good place to start. #mauifires #clearthelist Please RT. tinyurl.com/teachersmauifire…

Hey @RebekahODell1 and @sam_futrell1 thank you so so so much for the end-of-the-year inspiration we needed! #teamums students are way into writing their own graphic novels. We layered in @historysandoval playlist to build background 🔥

You are not a team because you work together. You are a team because you trust, respect and care for each other.

TS Eliot knew that “April is the cruelest month” and my guy didn’t even teach middle schoolers. 🤦🏼‍♀️
