Schools were built from the river to the sea. Hospitals were built from the river to the sea. Israel’s parliament was built from the river to the sea. The Hebrew language was (re) built from the river to the sea. Agricultural was built from the river to the sea. The IDF was built from the river to the sea. Israelis built the modern state of Israel as one builds a home for their family, out of love and dignity. Love for each other, for the Jewish tradition, for the land, the river, and the sea. For sovereignty, again. “From the river to the sea” is not a battle cry for the Jew. The river, the Jordan River, and the sea, the Mediterranean, Sea, are the spaces between which we call home. On this day in 1978, Israel completed its withdrawal from southern Lebanon following Operation Litani. The operation was launched after Palestinian terrorists murdered 38 Israeli civilians in the Coastal Road Massacre. Israel withdrew under a UN-backed arrangement, but the threat from terrorist groups in Lebanon persisted, setting the stage for decades of further conflict.

The more I show fellow Muslims how the sacred stories of their sacred heroes took place in a land they themselves called the Land of Israel and how those heroes were proud Israelites the more we can bridge the gap of hatred toward Israel and the Jewish people. The less Jews care about explaining this, the bigger the problem becomes. As I have said before, the greatest misinformation about Israel in the Arab world is the claim that it is “colonial” and not indigenous. That is absolutely false. Once the indigenous connection of the Jewish people to the Land of Israel is properly grounded and understood, many other lies begin to collapse.
