A weird and definitely wonderful wee beastie, none other than a spectacular Glowworm larva 🤩. Couldn’t believe my luck when we crossed paths today #glowworm #beetle #invertebrates #larvae #bioluminescence

So lovely to be seeing quite a few Painted Ladies from the recent influx 🤩. This one had a fleeting rest on the path in front of me, before gliding off into the distance. They have such phenomenal journeys #paintedlady #butterfly #lovebutterflies #lepidoptera #nomad

What a moth! The Puss Moth is truly striking and very beautiful. It gets its name ‘Puss’ from ‘pussycat ‘ due to its fluffy cat-like appearance. I’d love to see a Puss Moth caterpillar, they look incredible too 🤩 #moth #moths #lovemoths #lepidoptera #invertebrates #nature

Here come one of the most glorious sights and smells of spring: Bluebells are growing in number. The delicate Wood Anemones are beginning to form a carpet with Moschatel growing between. Red Campion flowers are opening up and Field Pansys are brightening the fields. #wildflowers

An incredible natural spectacle 🤩! This starling murmuration was absolutely phenomenal to watch, it just takes your breath (and words) away. A very special thing to experience. Nature really is amazing. #starlings #starlingmurmuration #nature #mesmerising #aweinspiring

The Cinnabar Moth has been busy, fantastic to see all these little caterpillars. Something tells me they are very hungry caterpillars and soon there will not be much left of this Ragwort and they will be much bigger #cinnabarmoth #moths #lovemoths #wildlife #nature

Yay! New Purple Emperor pupa found at 11pm last night, by UV torchlight (the pupating larvae & pupae flouresce strongly). 7m up in sallow canopy, photoed at 10m. Vaguely near Daneway Banks, Glos.

New research from the Home Builders Federation highlights that lack of resources in local authorities and lack of a clear, standard process are key causes to delays in the delivery of new homes, not nature. So why is nature being used as a scapegoat? 🤔 (1/2)

Same for me when we were down in Cornwall recently, saw so many, I stared at them and thought how, how do you do it?! One of my favourites so seeing them in numbers was lovely. Yet to see one here in Oxfordshire this year.

The painted lady amazes me, how does a creature so small and delicate manage such a great migration. Travelling from North Africa, the Middle East, and central Asia, recolonising mainland Europe and coming to Britain! Wow 🤩. I saw lots on the bountiful cliffs of Cornwall.
