Ten years ago today a third liver transplant saved a life so precious to us, and gave us more years to treasure together. The gift of life, at immense and unforgettable cost. Thank you will never be enough. (And Hot Chocolate keeping gentle company at the end of her bed...)

A transplant isn’t a cure - it’s a form of treatment that allows recipients to have a second chance of life and/ or a better quality of life. However we wouldn’t be able to have this opportunity without such amazing people and families who agree to donation so others may live.

Today it might not be everything we'd like, but that conversation about organ donation could become everything for someone else... live-loudly-donate-proudly.o… @OrganDonationNI @LiverTrust

#TransplantNursesWeek is when we recognise the invaluable contribution of transplant nurses like Lisa, in the lives of donors, recipients and their families. We couldn't do what we do without Transplant Nurses. A massive thank you to each and every one of them.

“It’s amazing how a small amount of inconvenience on my part can make such a huge difference to someone else.” Ten years ago, Paul donated a kidney to a complete stranger through the UK Sharing Scheme. Discover how he found the experience on our website: donateakidney.co.uk/stories/…

Organ donation is something very dear to my heart, my late brother Paul was an organ donor and saved lives with his organs, his heart gave a young lad a second chance at life, it’s a self less thing to do so if u aren’t, please consider joining the organ donor register
Jake’s life was saved by a courageous family agreeing to #OrganDonation and enabling life to live on in Jake through a #HeartTransplant. However, as Jake’s family agreed to Jake’s heart valves being donated, the donor family actually saved three lives ❤️ facebook.com/share/p/14sSZLg…
