She paved the way for women in broadcasting, fought her way into Radio 1 when there were no female presenters. Continued to champion women, young people, new music for the entirety of her career, never retired. What a legacy, what a life lived! We were all in awe of her ❤️
BBC Radio 1 is extremely saddened to hear of the passing of Radio 1 DJ, Annie Nightingale CBE. Our deepest condolences are with Annie’s friends and family at this incredibly difficult time.

Every once in a while I remember how my record on Hessle Audio was reviewed twice in the same issue of @DJmag, where they gave it 4 out of 10 in the Techno section and 9 out of 10 in the Dubstep/Garage/Funky (iirc) section. Honestly a career highlight
